Planned Giving-Real Estate
A valuable asset that can provide a significant benefit to the Lucasville Area Historical Society is land or property. Depending upon the location and/or historical relevance of the land/property, the LAHS might be able to utilize it for future development, growth, and/or preservation. Also, the LAHS might be able to sell the land or property and use the proceeds to benefit the group's mission. If an individual would like to consider the planned giving of real estate, a joint decision would need to be made by the donor, LAHS officers and members. The LAHS would also need to consult with outside financial counselors prior to any transfers.
Gifts of land / property should be coordinated with the LAHS officers prior to the gift or bequest to make sure any specific needs are coordinated. Certain factors of the donation may need to be validated prior to LAHS being able to accept the donation. A consideration may include a reserved lifetime use clause. Sometimes the donation might be as simple as executing or signing a deed transferring ownership to LAHS or a foundation. Your gift will generally be based on the property's fair market value, which would need to be established by an independent appraisal. Please contact the LAHS for a consultation.

Donation of Artifacts
The LAHS may consider accepting donated objects and materials that document and represent the history and culture of the Lucasville area. Not all artifacts need to document well-known people or momentous events in our history. If the donor can provide information regarding who owned the items or where and why the items were used, then the artifact might be the perfect donation. A well-worn artifact may tell more about our local history than an item that was never out of its box. In addition, the term 'old' varies in definition; therefore, consider that recent vintage items might be of great importance to the LAHS, too.
