The LAHS was organized
March 11, 1985

​"Lucasville Area Historical Society organized March 11, 1985 at the home of Mrs. Guy Bumgarner. Members attending were Ruth Wolfe, Betty Dillow, Jean Nelson, Mary Childers, Octavia N. McKinley, Irene Zaler, Rosemary Crabtree, Ruby Kelly, Jeanne Sheets, Mary M. Wolfe, Jesse Comer, and Mary T. Purdy. 

Pro tem officers are Gladys Pfleger, President; Pauline Herald, Vice-President; Irene Preston, Treasurer; Martha Sisler, Secretary; Alice Barker, Librarian; the hostess Nell Bumgarner, Historian. 

Object to aid in the collection, recording, and preservation of documents, publications, pictures, artifacts and other articles of historical information and interest. 

Guest speaker was Marquerite Ramsey of the South Webster Historical Society. 

Any persons who is interested in purposes of the Society and who is willing to assist in promoting these goals of the Society may become a member. They may contact any member for other details. The next meeting will be at the home of Alice Barker, April 11, at 1 o'clock."

LOCATION

OUR MISSION

The general purposes shall be the promotion and appreciation of historical studies.  Such purposes include, but are not limited to: original research; authentication, preservation, and dissemination of historical information pertaining to the Lucasville area; collection restoration, and preservation of documents, publications, pictures, artifacts, and other articles of historical significance; the purchase, preservation, and/or restoration of real estate of historical importance; maintaining a local historical museum and library; encouraging and fostering historical education through the publication of pamphlets, articles, and other documents relevant to the purposes of the organization; and by placement of historical markers upon historical sites.  The society is organized expressly for educational and charitable purposes as set forth in the Articles. "
