If you drove by the
Heritage House...

you may have noticed some construction, but sadly

it has been temporarily
stopped until

we have the funds required to finish.

A question some might be thinking is,

“Why do they need more space?”

Reason 1:

WE NEED A LARGER RESEARCH ROOM

Thankfully, we received a technology grant,

WHICH IS A GOOD THING,

to purchase a computer, printer/copier/scanner,

and a few other items.

In order to provide research and educational programs

we would like to make available to our members

the use of two websites:

Ancestry.com and Newspaper.com; however,

we do not have the space to accommodate this now.

THIS IS A BAD THING.

Solution to Reason 1

The wall adjoining the current small storage room

and research room would be partially removed to create

one large reading and research room. Thereby providing

adequate space for our members to use

the technology and conduct research.

Reason 2:

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ITEMS

CURRENTLY IN STORAGE

The current storage area is very limited.

Unfortunately, we've had to turn down receiving artifacts

and files because we simply do not have the space.

We also have boxes and filing cabinets full of priceless

photos and information on local businesses, family

history, Lucasville Grange, fire department, schools,

churches, Girl Scouts, Garden Club,

and the list goes on and on.

Reason 3:

We also need space to grow those resources.

Our town has grown and so have the businesses and groups.

Some reading this article may even be thinking of starting

a family file for safekeeping at Heritage House.

Valley HS alumni might even consider storing vital

documents and photos of your graduating classes.

And we need space to store displays for future use.

WAYS TO HELP

 1)
Become a Lifetime Member for $100

2) Shop using our AMAZON SMILE link

https://smile.amazon.com/ch/31-1129404

3) Buy a LAHS candy bar at Lucasville Giovanni’s.

Better yet, buy one for a friend :-)

4) Shop the Pampered Chef party online through May 31

https://www.pamperedchef.com/party/historicalsociety

5) HELP US MATCH A CHALLENGE.

A generous donor has pledged to match up to $2000 or

match whatever amount is donated! Any donation helps

meet this match donation.

6) Purchase part of the new storage space

7) Purchase the whole storage area

8) We need $2,000 to finish paying for the labor

to install siding  (a generous donor has already

donated $2,500 to cover over half of the cost

of labor to finish this project)

9) Hardwood flooring has already been donated

---VERY MUCH APPRECIATED---

Now we need to pay for the installation.

Approximately $2000 would cover this bill.

Any donation toward meeting the total is appreciated.

10) A special door is needed to join the current house to

the new addition. This will cost $500. Any donation toward

meeting the total is appreciated.
